(Yes, I do have MANY varied interests and have kept up with most of them since my retirement in 2007!) I will be visiting with ladies from the Farmington Sewing/Quilt Guild in early February to discuss what Quilts for Kids is all about.

I know, it's taken me almost a year to update this blog, but perhaps 2011 will be the year I do better at this!
I have been VERY active with the Order of the Eastern Star (OES) this year. I am serving as a District Deputy Grand Matron (DDGM) for one section of the St. Louis Metro area. I have eight chapters to serve and my "work" will begin shortly as I visit each chapter and instruct them in our work. I have also traveled around the state visiting with other OES members at receptions and the district schools which have just begun. Our DDGMs are involved in a "Challenge" this year to raise money for Sister Linda and Brother Bill's special charities. I'll post more on those soon. I am taking donations for a porcelain doll sitting on a bench holding a basket; hopefully I will figure out how to post a picture of my "doll" soon!
Our daughter just arrived in Afghanistan for her year of work on the other side of the world! She is a Civil Engineer with the US Army Corps of Engineers and will be working just outside of Kandahar. What an exciting adventure for her!

Good morning world! It's Thursday, February 18, 2010 and today is the first day of my Blog! Thanks Lori for listing your address so I could wander and begin.
I created this Blog to connect with my PartyLite customers, hostesses, consultants and friends because I want to share what's good in my life. My family and faith are most important to me, then you could probably list volunteering among my (and my husband's) soft spots. We were born to volunteer and help others. That's what attracted me so much to PartyLite....the ability to help others. This business is so easy. I guess I'm just stumped why more people don't jump on the opportunity like I did. This company is so wonderful to its consultants and leaders and I am so very happy I made to move to become a candleholic! Where else can you set your own hours, meet fun and new people and be in SHOW business at the same time. It's pretty incredible.
